with customer orientation and pioneering activities.

Currently the brand Kinetic is generic with mopeds.
The Kinetic Group comprises of the following
companies:
Kinetic Engineering Limited was incorporated
as a private limited company in Oct.'70 with the
registered office set up in Chinchwad, Pune. In
Jan.'72, the company started producing the Luna
brand of mopeds designed and developed indigenously,
at its plant at Chinchwad.
The company manufactures and markets the famous
Kinetic brands - Kinetic Luna and Kinetic Safari.
In 1984, along with Honda Motor Company, Japan,
the company promoted Kinetic Honda Motors
to manufacture scooters based on the latest technology
sourced from Honda Motor Company.
 In
1998 it raised its stake in Kinetic Honda Motor
Ltd (KHML) to 70 per cent as per the agreement
signed with Honda Motor Co, thereby making it
a subsidiary. At present it produces four models
-- Luna, Spark, Safari and Pride. During
1996-97, KEL launched a new version of Pride -
Pride FX, K4-100 - a four stroke step through
motorcycle and a new look Safari which has been
renamed as Safari - V2.
KEL exports vehicles to developed countries like
USA, Canada, Latin America and parts of Europe,
Africa, Middle East and South Asia.
All these credits have facilitated in the company
receiving "Export House" status.
The company received its ISO 9001 certification
in December 1997 from DNV( Deske Norske
Veritas) of Norway. This certification covers
the entire range of activities from design and
development to manufacturing, servicing and sales
of two-wheelers.
Kinetic is the first two-wheeler company in the
country to be ISO 9001 certified for all its models
manufactured in the country. The certification
further endorses the quality and reliability of
the vehicles Kinetic has been manufacturing. The
company's manufacturing capacity is 4 lakh vehicles
per annum and this is backed by a strong All India
dealer and service network.
 Kinetic
Motor Company was started in 1984 as a joint
venture with Honda Motor Company of Japan, to
manufacture and market scooters using the latest
variomatic transmission and push button start
technology. The head office is in Pune and main
manufacturing plant is located in Pithampur, near
Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
The 3 scooter models manufactured are sold under
the brand name of Kinetic DX, Kinetic ZX and
Kinetic Marvel. All the 3 models have been
well accepted in the premium end of the scooter
market and are considered as luxury on two wheels.
The company re-aligned its technical collaboration
with the Honda Motor Company, in 1998. It became
the first JV partner to buy the controlling stake
from its foreign partner.
