Handlooms! Ah, the very word conjures up images
of vibrant colours and textures in earthy tones.
Fashions may come and go, but for the die hard 'desi',
handlooms will continue to hold sway and reign supreme.
Sadly, the city is bereft of grand state emporia
that exhibit the range of handloom products. What
then do the diehard handloom freaks in the city
do? Surely they cannot keep making trips to Mumbai
and rely on friends in Delhi to replenish their
stock? Fortunately, for these ardent handloom fans,
there are well- wishers  who
have their (handloom) interest at heart and make
sure that the city also has its share of handloom
exhibitions!
Either Or, a refreshing store run by an
enthusiastic bunch of creative minds, is holding
an exhibition of handlooms - cotton and khadi
- from Dastkar, Andhra. The exhibition
is on for four days from November 10th
to 13th. On display are fabrics, dupattas,
sarees and bedspreads in vibrant and natural  colours.
For lovers of cotton, this show is truly worth
a 'dekko'.
