An interview with Madhukar Kunden

How long have you been in this business?
Sainath Kunden, my elder brother started Kaysons in 1991. 

How did you enter in this business?
We are the manufacturers of the very famous Poona Saree for more than 70 years. And that is how we have opened our own shop.

What are the varieties of garments available at your shop?
We have all the varieties of garments available through out India.

What are the specialties of Kaysons and what is the range?
We specialize in Embroidery Sarees, Bridal Sarees, Traditional Wear, Silk Sarees and Dress Material. The price varies according to the material, the embroidery, the jari work and so on, but approximately it starts from around Rs. 1000/-.

You said you are the manufactures of the Poona Saree, what are the varieties in Poona Saree and how much do they cost?
Poona Sarees are available in three varieties, Cotton that ranges from Rs. 250 to Rs. 600, Silk - Rs. 1000 and above and Paithani - Rs. 2,800 and above.

Any celebrity customers? Can you name a few?
There are many celebrities who visit the shop, ranging from politicians to theatre and film personalities, leading models and many more.

Do you accept credit cards?
We accept all major credit cards.

Your future plans?
Expansion is what we are planning for.
