Mobile, the market leader in mobile telephony
in Gujarat and Maharashtra, has announced the
launch of Club Mobile, a service for its
post-paid customers. The service will offer its
customers a variety of add on services.
BPL Mobile's Chief Executive Officer Vinay
Aggarwal said that all post-paid customers
of BPL mobile would automatically become a member
of Club Mobile. Membership of Club Mobile would
entitle the customer to a host of other services.
These services would include Internet Based
Services such as mobile commerce, bill on
e-mail and mihearmail.
Apart from Club Mobile, BPL mobile also announced
the launch of a new category of Club membership
called 'Platinum Club', and two other sub
segments called Gold and Silver Club.
The Platinum Club Members would be offered a
dedicated toll-free number for assistance, a 24-hour
relationship manager and concessions in prices
and tariffs at various consumer outlets.
Initially
the members would be eligible for concessions
at 125 retail outlets including ready-made garment
shops, a few Department stores and the Taj group
of Hotels. The number of retail outlets would
be increased substantially in the future.
Membership to the Platinum Club would be by invitation
only but Mr. Aggarwal refused to divulge the parameters
on which a member would be eligible for invitation
to the Platinum segment.
Mr. Aggarwal, when asked why the company was
announcing the launch of a product, for only the
post-paid customers and not all its customers
explained, "The company wanted to reward
its loyal customers. You must not forget the fact
that BPL Mobile has been the leader not only in
numbers but has also been the first to introduce
new services in the market."
