A team of five professionals, namely - Ravi Pandit,
Kishor Patil, Anil Kulkarni, Sachin Tikekar and
Shrikrishna Patwardhan have promoted KPIT Systems
Ltd, whose business includes software services and
products.
The company has a wide range of services, covering
Euro services, Reengineering, Migration, Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP), Data Warehousing and
in emerging areas like Internet technologies
and E-commerce. It has developed a product -
ASTRA, which is a Process Control software
package. This product has been developed in-house,
based on past project experiences and the expertise
of the product team.
KPIT's marketing model follows a UK-centric strategy,
unlike the conventional model that focuses on the
US market. The company is one of the few Indian
companies to have penetrated the UK market. This
has positioned it to capitalise on the emerging
opportunity of Euro services. KPIT is an alliance
partner to Oracle for marketing support, customization
and providing training on their 'Express' based
decision support applications and tools.
The company has extensive experience in the implementation
of Oracle applications based on online analytical
processing projects, having implemented over 50
projects in 10 countries. The company has handled
assignments world over with reputed companies in
the fast moving consumer goods sector, (Pepsi Foods
International, Unilever), the pharmaceutical sector,
(Johnson & Johnson, Gillette) and the telecommunications
sector (Birla, AT&T Communications, Bharti Telecom).
The company also formed its US subsidiary in September
1998 and the subsidiary kicked off operations in
January 1999.
KPIT's UK subsidiary has been in operation for two
years now, and has contributed to a significantly
large customer base and consequently large revenues.
