Apple's Gurukul Seminars brings technology
closer to schools, building an infrastructure
for learnin/g.
Apple
Computer International Pvt Ltd, the company
that pioneered the Personal Computer Revolution
in the 1970s, in its true tradition, targetted
the Education segment through its unique Gurukul
Seminars.
Apple's
education leadership is global and has been the
choice in education for over a decade now. Since
1985, Apple has collaborated with universities,
researchers and schools to study and create technology-rich
classrooms that promote and incorporate the best
practices to enhance teaching, learning and communicating.
These efforts have enriched many generations of
students and teachers around the world.
It
has been observed that most of the Schools want
to use IT in teaching - using computers for teaching
Mathematics, Science, Languages, Multimedia and
many other things, but they don't have proper
knowledge, computers, training and software to
do so. Apple introduced the first Computer in
School way back in 1978 which was called Apple
II and they never looked back since then.
Mr
Naren Ayyar, MD, India and SAARC countries,
Apple Computer International said "India
has got a big potential for the education market
and Apple is the only company which supplies total
education solutions to the Schools and Colleges
from computers to networking, software, training
and consultancy in setting up a model interactive
computer lab in an institution. This year Apple
is aiming at providing total education solutions
to Schools, Colleges and Biotechnology and Research
Centers in India and all the SAARC countries."
The
Gurukul Seminar series are aimed at introducing
the latest Apple computers, specially designed
for education, technologies and solutions from
Apple and its partners to the School and College
community and incorporating the best tools and
practices to enhance teaching, learning and communicating.
Apple
Computer gathered Principals and School board
members from the top 500 institutions of India
in these seminars that were engaged in this half-day
seminar. They walked away at the end of seminar
with a better understanding of the importance
of consensus in balancing the needs of students,
parents, school management and teachers and with
new ways to realize the promise of technology
in schools.
Apple
ignited the personal computer revolution in the
1970s with the Apple II and reinvented the personal
computer in the 1980s with the Macintosh. Apple
is committed to bringing the best personal computing
experience to students, educators, creative professionals
and consumers around the world through its innovative
hardware, software and Internet offerings.
