Rational India sets up operations in the city
Rational Software Corporation (India), is a 100%
subsidiary of its US based parent company, with
its Indian operations based in Bangalore has announced
the opening of its Pune office. Rational India,
over a period of three years, has established
seven full-fledged offices all over India. These
offices provide support to its large customer
base in India.
With specialists based in India, world-class training,
monitoring, and consulting costs have now become
very affordable. Rational India also houses a
development center, which is the only other development
center for Rational other than in the US. The
development center works on developing and enhancing
Rational's tools and technologies.
Rational India has the largest number of customers
in the software engineering tools market in India.
The one unifying factor amongst all its customers
is that they either develop software or use software
that is critical to their businesses. Software
development, with ever increasing complexities
and technologies offers tough challenges to its
customers.
Rational offers over 40 products that can be purchased
individually or in integrated Rational Suite
editions. Individually, Rational tools are leaders
in many of their market categories. Combined,
they offer a full life-cycle solution that is
unmatched in the software industry.
The company has an impressive list of clients
who include major players in the Telecommunications,
Software, Manufacturing, Banking and Financial
Services industry.
The company has tied up with two companies locally,
viz., DSS Infotech and Zensoft Education.
According to a company spokesman, Rational India
already has 25 clients in the city and the rationale
behind opening the sales office was to help the
company understand and serve its clients better.
The company's Software Exports from Pune in the
last financial year had touched Rs 1800 crores
and with phase two of the Hinjewadi Infotech
Park already coming up, they are optimistic
of generating more business from the city.
