The first of its kind in India, the
ISSC was founded to interface independent disciplines
of computer science and pure sciences as also
application programming and scientific computing.
The school was set up in close association with
the Department of Chemistry and Centre for Development
of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) at Pune. The school
conducts an autonomous post graduate course in
Computer Science at the Pune University.
Course: Masters in Computer Science (M.C.S.)
Eligibility: The student should have passed
Bachelor of Computer Science course.
Duration: Two year Post Graduate course.
Fees: Rs. 13,000. No.of seats:20 (Reservation
as per rules set by the Government of Maharashtra.)

for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) |

C-DAC
is a scientific society under the Ministry of
Information Technology, Government of India set
up in 1988 in the Pune University campus. The
core aim of the society lies in research and development
of advanced computing for human advancement and
to meet the ever growing needs of the Information
Technology industry through its Advanced Computing
Training School. C-DAC's application development
programme covers scientific and engineering, real
time and business applications. Other areas of
expertise include Lingual Technologies through
their GIST (Graphics and Intelligence based Script
Technology) group as well as Multimedia Technologies
at National Multimedia Resource Centre (NMRC).
Currently, C-DAC is working towards development
of enabling technologies and application testbeds
for National Information Infrastructure (NII).
C-DAC is active in the following spheres: #High
Performance Computing & Communications (HPCC).
#Multimedia & Multilingual Computing and Communication
(MMCC). #Advanced Computing Training School (ACTS).
#National Information Infrastructure (NII). C-DAC
has been offering advanced IT solutions in various
sectors like power, telecom, health, banking,
finance and also the government.
The Advanced Computer Training School (ACTS) controls
C-DAC's unique expertise and high-powered computing
infrastructure to groom high quality and productive
IT professionals for the expanding Information
Technology industry all over the world. ACTS is
located in Pune University Campus. C-DAC, ACTS
has its training centres in Pune, Bangalore, Delhi
and Hyderabad and authorised training centres
in Ahmedabad, Amravati, Badnera, Bangalore, Calcutta,
Chandigarh, Chennai, Kochi, Coimbatore, Delhi,
Indore, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Thane, Nagpur,
Nashik, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram.
The school offers the following courses to meet
the country's growing human resource needs. I.
Diploma courses *Course:. Diploma in Advanced
Computing (DAC) Duration:24 weeks (full time)
Fees: Rs. 45,000 to be paid in two installments
by DD drawn on any nationalised bank in favour
of C-DAC, ACTS and payable at Pune. *Course:Diploma
in VLSI Design Duration: 18 weeks (full time)
Placement: Through campus recruitment organised
by C-DAC. Fees: Rs. 35,000 to be paid in full
at the time of confirmation. The fee is non-refundable
and must be paid by DD drawn in favour of C-DAC,ACTS
payable at Pune.

in Information Technology (DIT) Duration: Distance
education:120 hours (part time). Courses commence
in the month of February, April, August and November

(non-refundable and inclusive of examination fees

Programme):Rs. 3,000 (non-refundable and inclusive
of examination fees for the first attempt)..
*Course: Cocurricular Diploma in Advanced Computing
(CoDAC) Duration: Three years (part time) Each
term is of 12 weeks with 2 hour sessions conducted
six days a week. Fees: Rs. 45,000 to be paid two
weeks before the beginning of each new term in
installments of Rs. 7,500 and is inclusive of
examination fees (for a maximum of two attempts).
