rectifier market for electrostatic precipitators,

Ador Powertron Ltd., a Power Electronics
Company is a member of the Ador Group (of which
Advani Oerlikon is the Flagship Company). It was
earlier the industrial electronics division of
Advani Oerlikon, and then entered into
the manufacturing of small devices such as liquid
level controllers, mercury switches and timers,
etc.
This was under the leadership of late I.T.
Mirchandani, then Chairman
and Managing Director of Advani Oerlikon.
The division grew from a small beginning in early
1970s to a division with a turnover of Rs.8 Crores
in the late 1980s, under the leadership of A.T.Mirchandani,
brother of I.T.Mirchandani. A.T.Mirchandani is
a graduate in Electrical and Electronics engineering
from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology
in Zurich, Switzerland.
Under his leadership, this division started
building up its technological competence and converted
R & D focus into market-oriented initiatives.
In the early 1990s, when the Indian economy opened
up for foreign and the private sector participation,
the Advani Oerlikon group started evaluating its
core strengths and took a strategic decision to
separate out those niche divisions. The Company
therefore appointed an outside agency (IL&FS)
to conduct the evaluation of the Industrial Electronics
Business Division and on the basis of this study
it was decided that this division be separated
out from Advani Oerlikon Ltd., thus Ador Powertron
Ltd. was born.
The
company recorded an appreciable growth in its
first year of independent operation in the year
1996. The company today, is an approved vendor
not only for many reputed engineering consultants
but also for many world-renowned European,
North American, Asia Pacific and Asian
Companies. It is ISO 9001 certified for its
sales, marketing, design, manufacturing supply,
commissioning & servicing activities.
The company is the market leader in the High
Voltage rectifier market for electrostatic precipitators,
with significant presence in the export market
for this product. Recently it has developed a
COMMUNICATION SOFTWARE for micro computer based
products and CONTROL AND CUSTOMISATION SOLUTIONS.
In the last three years, the company increased
its export turnover by 300%; indicative of the
acceptance it has gained worldwide and its competence
to meet international standards. The overseas
performance has helped the company to successfully
enter into alliances with their industry leaders.
More recently, the Company developed 'Design
and Documentation software' that not only offers
optimised designs but also automatically generates
engineering and manufacturing Drawings/Documents
thereby enabling dramatic reduction in engineering
time and enhancement of customer responses and
flexibilities.
