Creating a stylish range of electrical switches
 The
well-known Manikchand Group has diversified
activities ranging from tobacco products to wind
farming. Now they are also active in construction
and electrical accessories. The group is set to
do a turnover of Rs. 2000 crores by the year 2003.
Dhariwal (Chairman, Manikchand Group) believes
in creating his own market share instead of grabbing
the competitor's market share.
Dhariwal Electricals Pvt. Ltd. was formed
to manufacture & market the 'Millennium Electrical'
accessories under the brand name of Manikchand.
The company aims to provide value addition to
aesthetics in interior décor by means of their
products to make the house a 'happy home'.
The range of electrical switches and accessories
has unique features, but has been priced competitively
with modular switches of other brands. The technology
used in the product is patented and is indigenously
developed by the in-house R&D team.
 The
electrical accessories industry in India is about
Rs.1600 crore in size and is growing at 10% every
year. The company visualises that 5-6 major companies
will consolidate and grab 70% of the market share
in future.
Some of the unique features of Manikchand
switches and accessories:
- Switches are of ULVO94 certified polycarbonate
material, which ensures highest safety. They
are elegant as their screws are from the backside
and can be fixed on any mounting i.e. modular
plates, wooden boards or acrylic sheets. A mechanical
method is used instead of the commonly used
latches.
- Silver is mounted on the base material to
improve conductivity, thereby reducing heat.
- Plug-pins are solid, hence no effect of hollowness.
- Fan regulators with elegant designer knobs
maintain constant speed even if voltage varies
from 180-270 volts.
- Ceiling roses are provided with latches instead
of threads, which helps you fix it easily.
- The unbreakable lamp holders are molded in
one piece with no brass ring.
- The sparkless socket with silver plated contacts
gives a perfect grip.
