Merloni TermoSanitari (India) Ltd. is a wholly
owned subsidiary of Merloni TermoSanitari Spa,
Italy. The Indian operation includes India's largest
and singular fully integrated water heater plant.
The plant located in Chakan, near Pune, Maharashtra
has been operational since March 1999. With its
state-of-the-art technology, the impressive range
of water heaters produced here offers the Indian
consumer the latest in aesthetics, efficiency
in performance, and a high level of safety and
reliability.
The Indian plant is also the global export base
for water heaters with stainless steel inner containers
to other parts of the world, including Italy,
Belgium, Middle East, and Asian countries
of Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand,
Sri-Lanka and Nepal. Their immediate
future plans include penetration into the enamel
bathtubs, shower cubicles / trays, and air-conditioner
markets.
MTS is the first to manufacture water heaters
with stainless steel inner containers that are
corrosion-resistant, ensuring durability. These
inner containers are manufactured using the latest
Plasma-Tig Welding technology that ensures security
under immense pressure.
The Eterno range of electric water heaters, launched
in November 1997, was a pioneering attempt in
its class with rust proof polypropylene outer
body and PUF insulation engineered to offer up
to 40% energy saving as compared to ISI specification.
Today the Eterno range is India's market leader
in this category and the water heaters are being
exported to Europe, the Gulf, and South East Asian
countries.
