Residency Club |
One of the city's newer clubs, The Residency Club,
was established in 1986 to meet the growing needs
for social and recreational amenities in the city.
The cl ub
is particularly known for hosting several social
events and exhibitions besides recreational and
entertainment activities. Membership is open and
you pay Rs 1,50,000/-for a life membership. At Rs
2,50,000/- you can gain exclusive membership to
Residency Gold, a select club within the
club with several additional privileges and perks.

New Club (Poona ) |

This is yet another club to satiate the Puneite's
need for recreation. A very 'enthu' club, the
place is always buzzing with activity
with a variety of entertainment programmes. Well
known is the big deal made about the club's spacious
card room where
Rummy and Bridge are played with g reat
gusto. Tambola (housie), held every Sunday, is
much looked forward to by members and their families.
Membership is open and you pay Rs 100,000/- for
a life membership. Alternatively, you pay Rs 50,000/-,
in addition to which you have to pay a monthly
maintenance charge of Rs150/-and a nominal charge
when utilising the various facilities.

Royal Connaught Boat Club |
The RCBC was established in 1868 on the banks of
the Mula-Mutha river with the basic aim of providing
rowing and boating facilities to the eminent citizens
of Pune. Over the years, the Boat Club has evolved
into a truly moder n
club providing several other amenities besides a
good infrastructure for acquatic sports. Members
can pursue not just rowing, sailing and other water
sports but can also engage in other sporting activities
like billiards, tennis and physical fitness. The
club periodically hosts a variety of programmes
and functions. However, membership to this exclusive
club is closed

Poona Club |
|
The Poona Gymkhana sports club was set up in
1880 and was the hub of social activities for
the Europeans.The Gymkhana offered extensive space
for tennis, cricket, polo and badminton. Destroyed
by fire, it was replaced after independence, by
a modern structure and is now called 'The Poona
Club'. Arguably Pune's most exclusive club, it
continues to offer a host of facilities. Its 18-hole
golf course is considered one of the country's
best, set on acres of greenery away from the noise
of the city. The course is located on the airport
road in Yerawada. The club is a favourite venue
for hosting a number of prestigious social events.
Billiard as well as snooker tournaments of national
level are held here. The club also plays host
to inter-club billiard and snooker matches.
There are cricket matches as well as other sports
activities held
at the club. Membership to this elite club is
closed.

Royal Western India Turf Club |

The RWITC was originally known as the Willingdon
Soldiers Club and was established in 1918. From
the beginning, it was the venue for racing events
and the scenario continues to remain unchanged.
The club attracts punters from all over the country
during the racing season. The RWITC boasts of an
all-weather track, that holds good for any temperature
and enables races to be held at anytime. Membership
to the club is open and you have to pay Rs 2,00,000/-
for a life membership.
