Manali Water Resorts
 The
People of Pune now have yet another exciting place
to visit on a holiday. Just 14 kilometers
away from the Pune Railway Station on the Pune-Solapur
Highway, is the newly opened Manali water resort.
The resort run by the Kalbhor family, previously
in the Tanker and Warehouse business, was opened
to the public last month.
The resort spread over 4 acres, boasts of a water
park, a poolside restaurant, a party lawn, conference
hall and a video games parlour.
The specially designed water park is equipped
with a multiplex showering system and 3 slides
that includes a
dry landing slide, a spiral slide and a body slide,
a big water puddle and a separate water splash
for kids, the first of its kind in Pune. A neatly
laid out Jacuzzi completes the scene.
 Dinners
can be had by the poolside with magic shows, palmists,
and mehendi makers, to keep one engrossed and
entertained. The resort has 12 fully trained lifeguards
to meet any eventuality.
Mr. Kalbhor said that the resort was promoting
corporate seminars in a big way, where professionals
could spend the entire day with their families
at the resort. He added that there were plans
to build 10 cottages, out of which 4 would be
air-conditioned and the rest semi-luxury. The
cottages are expected to be ready by January 2002.
Besides the fast food served at the poolside restaurant,
there are separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian
restaurants for a leisurely meal. There is a well
stocked bar too.
 Entrance
rates to the water park are Rs 60 for Children
and Rs 100 for adults. The resort is open for
the general public from 6.30 in the morning to
11.30 in the night while the water park is open
from 6.30 am to 7.30 pm.
