IDBI Bank unveils its new brand identity
The IDBI Bank (The Industrial Development
Bank of India) today unveiled
its new brand identity affirming the Banks
strategic foray into retail banking. The
new identity aims at communicating the Banks
techno-savvy image and its commitment to
providing its customers with world-class
service. The new brand identity, signage,
design and colour were launched today.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gunit Chadha,
Managing Director and CEO of IDBI Bank said,
"The intent to re-brand and initiate
a complete makeover reinforces our commitment
to the retail banking segment. This new
identity will provide us with a launch pad
for significantly increasing our market
share backed by top quality customer service."
IDBI Bank has created a unified brand and
has appropriated the lowercase 'i',
which signifies the individual in the Bank,
the consumer and the Bank itself. To communicate
and reaffirm itself to customer service,
the Bank has adopted the mantra of "what
can i do for you?" which is the
very basic expression of a service brand.
The colour "teal", a mix of blue
and green, was adopted, as research showed
that it is seen as a new age color. The
words "idbi Bank" were italicized
and were in lowercase because of its relevance
in the Internet age.
Mr Ajay Bimbhet, Country Head, Retail
Banking, IDBI Bank added, "We want
IDBI Bank to be synonymous with excellent
customer service, technological innovation
and unmatched convenience. The branding
exercise re-enforces these aspirations."
The new brand identity comes following
a Rs 40 crore investment in Information
Technology, including finance and banking
software from Infosys. The Bank plans
to expand its retail reach from 51 branches
to 75 branches and introduce 230 higher
end ATMs to the existing 69 over the next
eighteen months.
IDBI Bank Ltd offers a range of
services including innovative and customer-friendly
banking products such as demat accounts,
loans against equity shares, home loans,
educational loans and personalised banking
services.
A month ago IDBI Bank launched its SMS
/ WAP mobile banking services covering 10
cities. IDBI Bank is continuously looking
for ways to leverage its technical and human
resource strengths and to bring to the retail
customer, convenience products at a competitive
cost.
