Just Around The Corner

In Pune since January, Just
around the corner, is an American style eatery brought
to the city by the Mars group of restaurants.
As you step into the spanking premises you are instantly
struck by the casual , yet classy ambience that
pervades the air. The cicular tables are creatively
arranged for one to sit and take in the surroundings.
The glass doors permits a view of the green outdoors,
while natural sunlight streaks across the room adding
to the brightness indoors.The sleek magazine rack
displays an array of magazines & newspapers
carefully selected, keeping in mind the eclectic
taste of the customers. The restaurant has managed
to revoke the 60's atmosphere with the music in
perfect synch with the mood. So, after a hard day's
night you know just where to head to stay alive.
The walls are adorned with framed mock-up's that
are sure to elicit a smile if not a uffaw.
Frank Sinatra intones, "I'll have my burger
my way," Humphrey Bogart has a request and
that is' to play it again Ham,' while on the other
side of the wall Leonardo DiCaprio asks Kate Winslet
if she would like a nice hot cappucino before he
lets go.
At JATC, lounging is encouraged. It would be a pity
if one came in to catch a quick bite and vamoosed.This
classy eatery has a
lot to offer in terms of ambience and the menu .From
a range of American, Italian, Continental and Oriental
Salads replinished every hour, A different soup
featured daily, burgers and sandwiches made to taste
and desserts to kill for, one could opt to make
a meal of anyone or all of these.
The food is aesthetically displayed in an 'L' shaped
section with special counters for each variety and
manned by savy stewards. The arrangements for making
payment functions like a department store. You begin
by picking up a plate, pass the food counters, pick
up or ask for what interests you and finally stop
at the last counter to pay for items picked.
With a sporty and carefree feel to it, one can comfortably
stroll in to this place alone pull up a vacant chair
and so what if liquor and smoking is strictly prohibited,
the magazines, music, mock-up's and sketches pasted
under the glass table tops will keep one totally
engaged.
A great hit with the Saturday night crowd, the regulars
first meet and eat here before they go ahead to
dance the night away.
Some may well return the next morning for a lazy
Sunday breakfast or perhaps ask for a parcel to
be dropped at their doorstep.
Open 8 am to 12 midnight for breakfast, lunch and
dinner, you know now where to head if you wish to
have your eggs sunny side up. So what are you waiting
for? Doesn't this Sunday sound great!.
