Pizza Hut the world's largest pizza chain with over 12,500 restaurants globally, opened its second restaurant in Pune on M.G Road, one of the busiest streets in Pune camp area. The 105-seater stylish dine-in restaurant with a floor area of 4000 sq. ft. has the same ambience as any of the Pizza Hut restaurants across the world and offers the distinctive pizzas served in an ambience centered on fun, relaxed informality, entertainment and friendly service. With the launch of this second Pizza Hut restaurant, the globally relished trademark dining experience will now be more accessible in Pune.

The new Pizza Hut restaurant boasts of a very contemporary design, split level seating, a high ceiling and aesthetic Pizza Hut murals. The new restaurant boasts as being the only restaurant in the city to have a colorful kids play zone. The restaurant also has the new Pizza Hut signage, which also gives it a very contemporary look. It also offers a home delivery within a radius of approx. 8 kms.

Elated over the opening of the second Pizza Hut outlet at Pune, Rajesh Shah, Managing Director, Pizzeria Pure Foods Restaurants Pvt. Ltd. (franchisee of Pizza Hut), said, "The warm response which Pizza Hut has always received in Pune and its ever growing popularity are the reasons for opening a second outlet in the city. I am confident that this restaurant will evoke as enthusiastic a response as our existing restaurant on J M Road."

Commenting on Pizza Hut's strategy in India, Pankaj Batra, Senior Marketing Manager, Indian Subcontinent, said, "Pizza Hut's acceptance in India has been a guiding factor in our decision to open at least 30 more outlets in India by the year 2001. Opening a second outlet in Pune is consistent with our expansion plans. Pizza Hut's expansion is also indicative of the way Indians have embraced the concept of Pizza as a cuisine option, and the values for which Pizza Hut stands."

He added, "The company was planning to open two 30-seater restaurants in the next Financial year, in Pune. These will be probably located either at Kothrud, Aundh or Pimpri-Chinchwad. The Company also plans to open in Nasik, which will be a 50-seat  restaurant in the coming financial year."

Like every other Pizza Hutä oulet in India, the second oulet in Pune will also offer the popular Party Pizza Pooch Birthday program.

Pizza Hut, a division of Tricon Restaurants International, has 18 restaurants in 9 cities and is planning to open more outlets to service a larger customer base across the country.
