Packing in Success
Tetra
Pak is one of the world's leading suppliers
of liquid food processing and packaging systems.
It contributes to the safe, efficient and environmentally
sound production and distribution of liquid foods
to the consumers of the world.
Tetra Pak is the only company of its kind which
is capable of supplying its customers with comprehensive
systems that integrate processing lines with packaging
and distribution systems. Last year, the world
consumed some 52
billion litres of liquid food and drink, including
milk and fruit juice, from 86 billion Tetra Pak
packages.
The companies vision is to become and remain
the world leader in liquid foods processing and
packaging. "A package should save more
than it costs". This was the tenet
of the founder of Tetra Pak, Dr Ruben Rausing.
His devotion was towards finding a newer, better
and cheaper alternative milk packaging solution
that would replace glass bottles and loose milk.
Tetra Pak India Limited is a wholly-owned, Indian
subsidiary of the Tetra Laval Group, formed
in 1987, and commenced production in 1997 from
its plant at Takwe, near Pune. Tetra Pak
has consolidated its presence in the dairy and
beverage markets in the country, and has significantly
developed its exports business.
Today, Tetra Pak India is a processing and packaging
solutions partner to many small, medium and large-sized
private and cooperative-sector organisations,
including leading Indian and Multi National food
companies.

Tetra Pak India is a part of the Tetra Laval
Group of Sweden, which is the world's largest
liquid food processing and packaging group.
Tetra Pak has been able to revolutionize packaging
of liquid foods. About 86 billion packages
of liquid food packed in Tetra Pak packaging were
consumed world wide in 1999 in 165 markets, which
clearly indicates the degree of success and global
acceptance it enjoys.
