Empress Garden

It is one of the leading botanical gardens of Pune. The Britishers laid it around 110 years ago. It is presently being maintained by the Botanical Society of Western India. Its nursery is famous for supplying newer varieties of trees. Many unusual species of palm, indoor plants, flowering plants and climbers are available in the garden nursery. It holds a grand winter show in January every year. This show has become a very popular event with people coming from all over Maharashtra. During the show a spectacular display of many varieties of flowers is the main attraction.

Khushboo Nursery

One of the oldest nurseries in the country, for over two decades it was amongst the premier rose nurseries in the country. Today it is a leading gerbera nursery. Breeding and cloning of select gerbera varieties is done through its tissue culture nursery. It now boasts of 250 varieties suited to a variety of purposes, such as cut flower production, pot plants, landscapes and house plants. However, seeing the growing demand for the gerbera as a house plant and also lack of other planting material, it plans to enter the retail segment through its outlets on MG Road and Nagar Road.

Pingale Farms

Pingales are in the horticulture business for four generations. They were the first to establish a cut roses farm as well as the first florist shop in Pune. Formed when Mr. Madhukar Kavade got into the nursery business 15 years ago. He has acres of rose plantations. The nursery's business boomed about five years ago. Mr Kavade is the deputy chairman of the Pune Rose Society; his roses have bagged prizes at various rose shows held all over the state.
