Pioneers in water and fuel management,
Thermax Chemicals is a flagship division of
the Thermax Group of companies of India. Thermax
Limited is a consolidated group of fourteen
business divisions and four joint ventures
specialising in providing complete solutions
in the areas of energy, energy conservation
and environment preservation. Thermax, which
commenced operations as Wanson India Ltd in
1967, today posts a turnover in excess of
Rs. 6000 million. The figure is estimated
to exceed Rs. 10,000 million by 2002.
Established in 1969, the company began
its manufacturing activities modestly with
ion exchange resins. Presently the company
manufactures a range of 400 products. The
company posted a turnover of Rs. 750 million.
Abhay Nalawade is the managing director
of the company. Thermax Chemicals provides
a wide gamut of solutions in areas of energy
and environment: speciality polymers, oilfield
chemicals, fuel additives, boiler water
chemicals, cooling water chemicals, polyelectrolytes
and sugar chemicals. The company manufactures
its world class products' range in two state-of-the-art
production plants situated at Bhosari and
Paud.
Ensuring consistent quality standards is an
essential part of the manufacturing processes
at their manufacturing unit. Thermax has several
Total Quality Management (TQM) based processes
like product development process, quality
function deployment process among others to
ensure total quality. Presently, Thermax Chemicals
is in the process of acquiring ISO - 9001certification
for its products and services.
