Hardikar Hospital

The hospital started from the efforts of Dr Sharad
Hardikar after
he completed his FRCS in 1964. At that time, Dr
SM Hardikar started with a nursing home
of 10 beds. Over the years, the nursing home grew
into a full fledged hospital more popularly known
as Hardikar hospital.
The Hospital is now very popular as an accident
and referral hospital for all types of accident
and Orthopedic cases from western Maharashtra
and beyond. Today, a number of large companies
and industrial concerns regularly refer all types
of orthopedic and accident cases to the Hospital.
The trust that manages the hospital has
conducted 60 free Polio camps where 6000 children
were examined and 1025 operations were done free
of cost. The Hospital also has a Centre for Rehabilitation
of Crippled Children, which provides free surgical
rehabilitation for victims of Polio disabilities
and Cerebral palsy, belonging to the economically
weaker sections of society.
The
hospital has now got highly qualified consultants
in Neuro Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Vascular and
other fields. The facilities include a Casualty
Department, a Pathological laboratory, a Physiotherapy
Department, a hospital with 75 beds and ICU, an
Operation Theatre Complex, an Orthotic and Prosthethic
Workshop, and a conference room with a seating
capacity of 100 people, which is fully equipped
with sophisticated audio-visual equipments.
The hospital has been recognized by the National
