Bausch & Lomb was the first Trans National
Company to launch world-class soft contact lenses
and lens care products in India.
Since 1992, B & L has been single handedly
developing the vision care market in India through
consumer education and practitioners support activities
to upgrade contact lens practice and management
skills. Bausch & Lomb has a state-of-the-art
manufacturing facility in India. The ISO 9002
certified plant, located in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan,
is the only integrated manufacturing facility
in the B & L family worldwide, which produces
sunglasses, contact lenses, spectacle frames and
lens care solution, all under one roof.
In this plant the contact lenses
are manufactured by spin casting. This process
ensures that the lenses are ultra thin, have a
smooth optical surface, higher oxygen permeability
and higher reproducibility. In addition, the plant
also manufactures sterile lens care solution.
This plant has been primarily set-up for India
and the SAARC market, but also exports to Europe
and Asia.
The contact lenses that it manufactures and
distributes in the country are:
Standard Soft Contact Lenses
B & L Soft contact lenses, unlike conventional
lenses are spun-cast from one drop of pure polymer
by a computer controlled process. They weigh less
than a dewdrop and wrap around the eye, reducing
the possibility of dust particles getting under
the lens.
Optima Colors
Optima color is a collection of Coloured Soft
Contact Lenses. The lenses are available in seven
alluring colours to change the colour of the eye
and match with the current 'trendy' looks. The
range includes, 'Voila Violet', 'Trendy Topaz
Blue', 'Gloria Green Ocean', 'Belle Blue', 'Greta
Gray', 'Helluva Hazel' and 'Gorgeous Green'.
Optima Torics
Optima Toric Soft contact lenses are specially
designed and manufactured to incorporate cylindrical
power for correction of astigmatism. Only specially
designed Optima Torics are able to provide optimum
vision in such cases.
These Contact Lenses can be purchased from any
optician shop in the city.
