LAMCON'S INVESTFESTd
INVESTFEST - the annual two-day
festival of investment opportunities by
Lamcon Vision, an organization committed
to promoting investor awareness and education,
and Sakal Papers. This year is a
special one as it's the completion of 10
years of this festival. In the past decade,
the organizers have been conducting the
festival despite the ups and downs that
the stock markets have witnessed.
Ever since its inception in 1992, the festival
has attracted thousands of investors, ranging
from corporates, potential investors, small
and medium investors. Nearly 6,000 to 15,000
people have visited the festival every year.

"Since this is not an entertainment
fair, the crowds that visit us are genuine,
focused investors, who come with a purpose
of finding investment avenues as well as
gaining knowledge."
The festival offers an exhibition of financial
and investment products and services where
stalls are allotted to participating companies.
A 'Talk invest' featuring a series of seminars
and conferences addressed by top notch personalities
from the field of finance on the 'why, where
and how to invest'. In the past, personalities
like M.J. Pherwani, (former Chairman,
UTI), Kishore Chaukar (MD of ICICI
Securities), M.R. Mayya (former Chief
of BSE), J.Mulraj (renowned economist),
Suresh Prabhu (Union Minister of
Power), Sucheta Dalal (leading journalist)
to name some, have been speakers at Investfest.
IDBI, ICICI Securities, NSE, BSE, UTI,
Business Standard, etc. have been repeatedly
sponsoring the show.
It also holds a curtain raiser. Organized
on a large scale and open to the general
public free of cost, these include The Great
Bond Rush (a treasure hunt), Stock Word
(a financial quiz) and Parlez-vous Finance
(an inter-collegiate debate).
This
year, Investfest 2001 is to be held
on 3rd and 4th February at the Police
Grounds.
"This year an added attraction will
be a 'Filmfest' through which the visitors
will get an opportunity to view finance
in an entertaining format on the big screen.
Lamcon has already launched 8 titles in
the 'FIGURE OUT THE WORLD OF FIGURES' video-based
training programme series, which is part
of the distance learning project of Lamcon
and we plan to screen these films at the
