Say No to Obesity, Pledge to Shed Weight

November 26th was marked as "Anti Obesity Day" in future calenders. VLCC (Vandana Luthra'sCurls and Curves) Slimming and Beauty for Men and Women and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) have joined forces to crusade against this disease and spread awareness as to how one can fight obesity with proper guidance and methods. Obesity is a silent killer, and more importantly, a harbringer of various life-threatening diseases like Hypertension, Heart Attack, Osteo-Arthritis, Diabetes, Gall bladder stones and impotency.

Obesity can be viewed as a consequence of the interaction between environmental forces and the individual genetic substrate. These genes enhance the storage of food when food intake is in abundance and energy expenditure is reduced. To mark this occasion, all the VLCC centres throughout the country will be hosting a number of camps and health quizzes along with a low calorie recipe contest. VLCC also had some surprise discount offers for all those who registered on the 26^th November. VLCC also had free counseling and body composition camps for all obese patients. The VLCC Anti-Obesity campaign aims to go a long way in making India more literate about the devastating effects that obesity poses on the overall health of an individual.
