Bhumata

Bhumata Charitable Trust is a registered voluntary organisation dedicated to the cause of agriculture and the environment.
Dr Budhajirao Mulik, the Chairman of this organisation, is deeply  committed to environment conservation and protection. As part of its activities, the Trust has implemented Watershed Management practices in villages to check soil erosion, de-silting of reservoirs and conservation of surface runoff of water, and several other environment related projects.

Bhumata has striven to remedy the situation of the impact of modernization on the environment in the form of growing pollution, deforestation and environmental degradation in general. It has tried to harmonize long term remedies with day-to-day solutions to environmental ills - all with the same priorities and practicable solutions, be it the volcanic emission of pollutants in the cities, loss of greenery, filth accumulation in rivers or near human dwellings, or even criminal wastage of our natural resources. Bhumata's work also includes Environment Awakening  programmes. They have succeeded in involving a large cross section of people by getting them to participate in activities that are a part of everyday life.

Bhumata looks forward to more active people participation as then alone can they hope to spread the message to
more and more people.
