Dinesh
Munot a professional engineer is a respected
personality in the Indian Automotive Industry,
with an experience of over twenty-eight years.
He took charge as Executive Director of Kinetic
Engineering in 1978. He was responsible for
setting up the manufacturing activity in the backward
area of Ahmednagar. In this capacity, he successfully
established 80 small-scale ancillaries to supply
various components required for the Luna Mopeds.
The entrepreneurs chosen by him were either local
businessman or engineers working in Kinetic
Engineering Limited. They were encouraged
to set up small workshops by giving machines on
loans from the company. These engineers are today
well-known Industrialists in their own rights.
Due to his experience in Human Resource Development,
Technology Development and Socio Economic Development,
he was selected and awarded by the Indian Jaycees
as 'Outstanding Young Person for the Year'
in the International Youth Year 1985.
In 1984, he took charge as Managing Director
of ZF Steering Gear (India) Limited (a Joint
venture company with ZF Lenksysteme Gmbh, Germany)
who are pioneers in bringing the technology to
manufacture Integral Hydraulic Power Steering
Gears in India. ZF has been accredited with ISO
9001 Certification from BQCI London in October
1995.
In July 1998 Munot was elected as the President
of the Automotive Components Manufacturers Association
of India, the apex body representing automotive
component manufacturers from all over India. During
his tenure at the apex body, a project was undertaken
with the help of UNIDO to improve the quality
and productivity of small and medium size auto-component
manufacturing industries in the western region.
He has the unique distinction of addressing
the United Nations Development Council
at Vienna in November 1999. He is associated
with a number of associations and is also on the
board of several well-known companies.
