Surrounded by five hills, 38m below
Mahabaleshwar is the beautiful hill station -
Panchgani. The road leading to Panchgani winds
up the hill with the Krishna river flowing on
one side and the coastal plains on the other.
Deciduous trees and forests form a canopy of leaves
over the walkways. With a temperate climate throughout
the year, Panchgani has become one of the favourite
places for people who want to get away from it
all. The main attraction of this hill resort is
the famous Table Land where many Bollywood films
have been shot. People who want to take a closer
look at their favorite movie stars often make
a trip to Lovers Leap or the famous Table Land
in Panchgani. The Table Land is a huge plateau
which is dotted with people at sunset. There are
camel rides, buggy rides, nine pins and lots more
for people looking out for genuine fun. The roasted
bhutta (corn) sprinkled with salt and red chili
powder, with a dash of lime juice makes it a mouthwatering
treat for visitors. Panchgani is most easily approachable
by road. It is just a two hour drive from Pune.
