Situated in the main corridor of Kumar Plaza is
the boutique LajuGee. The store run by Laju Gupta
(and named after her) showcases ready-to-wear ethnic
suits in cottons and silks at prices ranging from
Rs. 700 - Rs. 2,500.  Set
in an informal atmosphere, you are tempted to just
walk in and have a look at the row of salwar kameezes
and gaghra cholis. You would probably pick up a
few pieces from the variety of colours, patterns
and silhouettes. LajuGee also takes stitching, alterations
and embroidery orders for tussar silks and cottons.
LajuGee also stitches exclusive pieces and bridal
dresses. "It takes one week to ten days to deliver
an order," says Gupta about LajuGee's tailor-on-order
service. Exclusive suits can cost above Rs. 6000
depending upon the embellishments, buttons and piping.
Bridal dresses cost over Rs. 10,000. Pay a visit
to this boutique if you are looking for an outfit
for a special occasion. LajuGee is closed on Sundays
and public holidays.

Manshow Tailors |
This two decade old couture store stands at the
entrance of Wonderland Shopping Complex.  The
exclusively "GUYs' only" store was started by Hakim
Bandookwala to provide tailoring at reasonable price
and light to heavy embroidery work on sherwanis,
pathanis, aligarhi and kurta pyjama. Manshow also
stocks Jockey brand innerwear for men, hankies,
socks (Bonjour, Calzini, Jockey), genuine Spanish
leather accessories like belts, wallets and attractive
elastic suspenders. Manshow is closed on Sundays.
The shop accepts Visa and Mastercards.

| Needlewoman
|
As you walk down M.G. Road, you are drawn towards
this standalone broad opening in the midst of shopping
malls. The hoarding above says "Needlewoman." You
probably are surprised and curious. Needlewoman
was started by Mr. Kapasi more than 25 years ago
and is now a landmark on M.G. Road. The fixed rate
store is a match centre which stocks a range of
350 colours in 2x2, polyester and cotton fabrics.
If you want a matching blouse or a skirt or a fall
for your new saree, this is the right place to go
to. The store also has hosiery garments for women,
baby wear and readymade night suits for children
below ten years. All items are reasonably priced.
The store remains closed on Sundays.
